The early floor model XI that I saw doesn't have the brake.I't'd have to be very early.BTW,the XI is probably the most common of the floor model Victrolas.My friend Arthur Pare had a XI in his kitchen,but his was a later XI with the fat tone arm,brake,and horizontal slats for albums.They got rid of the vertical slats quite early due to records getting stuck behind.edisonplayer

To be truthful I don't have room for that XI that I saw.Now if it one like it in OAK-maybe!BTW,I have a cabinet that's oak that I use for record storage.It was a later oak XI,but someone cut the upper half off and put on a yucky piece of plywood.They turned it into an end table or some such thing.edisonplayer
