I've been watching this thread, and the coy saying-but-not-really-saying about who is being discussed. Finally after much shilly-shallying somebody now suggests using the google. So I gave it a try.
Is this it?
ANTIQUE EDISON
301 MURRAY AVE
BRIDGEVILLE, PA. 15017 (USA)
PHONE/FAX: 412-257-8926 EMAIL: [email protected]
...which is apparently someone named John Marinacci?
Or are we all going to guess and maybe guess wrong, thus making difficulties for the wrong person?
I've never dealt with the antqedison5947 person about whom people are complaining. I'm unsure why people who have been wronged by him/her are unable to state the full facts about their experiences. Fear of litigation? Doubtful, if the claims are true. Perhaps a late night armed visit of revenge, with cocktails a la Molotov? Hmm, maybe that's it.
Can one of those people with first-hand knowledge please provide the necessary information, in order to make the warning useful?

A bit actor who has appeared in “The Sopranos” and “Boardwalk Empire” was collared for his role in a mob-connected gambling ring in Brooklyn, the state Attorney General’s office announced today.
John Marinacci, 56, was a low-level functionary in a “Gambino Bookmaking Enterprise,” soliciting bettors, collecting money and taking a percentage of the losing bets, according to an indictment brought today by the AG.

Can't stop laughing!
Good thing he's pals with my cousin, Louis "Louie da Garbageman" Lombardo.

I have dealt with guy before! All I can say is BEWARE. I do not believe that actual physical violence is beyond this guy. At least according to the emails sent through the eBay system from him to me.Ebay gave him a warning.

I agree with everyone that his original eBay listing for the Edison Concert was not a true representation of the machine. I had dealings with him and am pleased with my purchases and the prices I paid. He answered all my emails and all my questions. I regret that I did not take him up on some of the other items he offered me as his prices were fair.

For anyone who may have seen the boorish and undoubtedly hooch-fueled messages on this thread left by the seller in question, he has been vanquished from our presence. As you were, please.

I've followed this thread some time now. I thought it was over, but now it's back. At the risk of incurring the wrath of so many irate people, what terrible travesty did this seller commit? Here's the original complaint on the first post:
Dear Sir,
WHERE IN THE WORLD DO YOU EVER COME UP WITH YOUR FANCIFULL INFORMATION???
I purchased this machine 2yrs ago at Union, and subsequently sold it at Stanton’s this past spring.
I had owned the horn and crane for about 5yrs, and had the horn straightened and polished, and a new brass nipple installed at a music shop in Tulsa for a whopping cost of $120.
I am the person who glued and nailed the leather bumpers on the case to insulate the bedplate from the case to make the motor quieter. I am also the person who rebuilt the reproducer with a new replacement limit screw from Ron Sitko. (I can’t believe that you made up a story that Steve Medvid & Walt Sommers rebuilt this reproducer!).
I am also the person who cleaned and polished the case with GoJo, and cleaned and lubricated the motor and installed a new leather drive belt.
Let's take the points one by one. He purchased it at auction so he would not know the previous ownership nor the work that was done on it by any previous owners. So all that about buying it at Union and selling it at Stanton's is irrelevant. It only establishes prior ownership. As for the horn being straightened, brass nipple installed, new leather bumpers put on, etc, the seller doesn't ever claim anything otherwise. In fact doesn't state anything about them. Why would he? He does not know the repair history of the machine.
So now, did he make up the story about Steve Medvid and Walt Sommers? Apparently not. And so what if the previous owner cleaned and polished the case with GoJo? Does the seller make any fanciful claims otherwise? I don't think so. Ditto for all that about the leather belt and lubricating the motor. The guy bought it at auction, broke something, and had Walt Sommers fix it. As for the $1200 for horn repair, maybe it's a typo, maybe not. But I don't understand such a strong reaction from so many people on this forum.
I don't know the seller. Maybe he is a lousy, dishonest person. But I can not conclude that based on the information provided here. This seems almost like a witch hunt, you know naming names and posting photos. So, yeah, go after me for defending this guy. Really I'm not, but I think this has gone overboard.

I kind of thought the same things.
