think I'll be able to use the one my friend gave me. It too seems way too large, and he promises
me that it's original and fits his machine fine.

Maybe I have an Edison standard? ;)
I'll trade you two Standards for that annoying Opera 8-)

What'll you give me for the cat?
Sorry, got two cats already ;)

Mr. Grumpy,

Could you please post pictures of your finished cabinet. I'm sure the friends would appreciate seeing the finished cabinet.

Whoa! that dough kneading cat is mesmerizing! I've been stuck watching it for 8 days and completely
neglected to upload photos of my machine.

Thanks again to all who helped.
I used Jerry's measurements to reduce the size of the reproduction columns I purchased as my friends original
was even larger than the ones I had.

Below is a video of it playing, please comment on the sound of the machine as I've rebuilt the reproducer but not sure if it should be clearer than what I'm hearing....

It sounds very nice to me!
Thanks for the picture and video. It's hard to beat the sound of a nice Opera machine.

Thank you Bob, Garret. To me it sounds a bit harsh but maybe that's just how a cylinder machine sounds?
It seems to buzz a bit.

Dave, I never disappoint.

I expect you to watch the full ten hours since It took me ten hours to upload it.
I also expect to see you subscribe to my channel for more '10 hours of buzzing Edison Opera videos'.

Didn't see you wind it. 10 hours on one winding is pretty good, I guess. (Of course mine will do 11.)

The columns look great, as does everything else!
