The whole box and decal looks original and authentic, but I haven't gotten a definitive answer about its history.
I've shown them to some well-known collectors who have never seen these. Some of the hardware pieces are made by the same company that made those for the Army-Navy phonograph, if I recall correctly.

Thanks Bob - - I must have missed that 2010 thread. The Army/Navy was what immediately occurred to me, but the film transport cannot be dismissed either. Very interesting!
