Re: WANTED: What do you want to see at Union?
I'm excited as this will be my first trip to Union. While I am there I would like to see a motor for a Columbia AH early model. The one with the start/stop and speed control on the top and the off-center crank. Also, some trim for the case. See you all there!!

Just looking for Diamond Discs and cylinder records. Too poor for anything else! I'm already picking up a bunch of stuff.

FOUND!!
I am hoping to find one of the smaller diamond disc machines preferably in oak. I need a diamond disc player and do not have room for a C250 or one of the other large machines. The size of a 100, 150 or perhaps a 200 would work. If anyone has one they would be able to deliver to Union send me a PM with details.

All the great friends that I only get to see once a year.
A gramophone that plays chocolate records.
And, unlike Jerry, not a loan but a cash gift to pay for it!

I think your wishes will indeed come true. Union is much more that a sale. It's a location where pre-sold items exchange hands. That why I highly recommend that we place our wants in the Trader. Jerry B.I want to see:

Ok Jerry. If you see an Amberola 1A with an M reproducer, let me know. I'll buy it and you can deliver it to me! Marc.

I will be there. Hopefully finding parts for an AG Graphophone, I want that going again. And bringing some cylinders, and the studio recording machine. I would like to see a variety of brown wax cylinders, from sub companies of N.A.P.C, and some early recording equipment.

Re: WANTED: What do you want to see at Union?
I still think it would be a very good idea for
the organizers of the Union show to set up
a "quiet" room off to the side somewhere.
This "quiet" room could have some tables so that
people who want to do serious recording and playback
tests and demos can do so without being subjected to
the seemingly endless loud cacophony which is always present in that large hall during the show.
It seems that each and every time I've ever attempted
to listen well to any cylinder there, just as I set
the carriage down, someone nearby starts up some loud
and raucous mechanical noise-making machine of some sort,
which promptly and very effectively renders any attempt
at close listening completely impossible.
But hey, Union is all about sales, right?
Who cares about whether anything actually records or
plays back?
Yes, it makes noise, now pay up....
Just my $.02 worth.
