Valecnik, I'm sure you're right about the over-production of the Model D. The Phonograph Works seemed to have a pretty big stock of lids with the "Change of Reproducers" sticker inside.

At least for the Standard machines, I can say that some went out with paper stickers pasted over the "Change of Reproducers" sticker. I've noted a few with either a big "E" or in one or two cases a big "F" on the over-sticker. Over time many of these over-stickers seemed to have been partially removed, no doubt by people curious to see what was printed on the label underneath. My Standard model E has about half of its over-sticker torn away.

This seems to be a period when the factory was constantly converting one model to another to move increasingly obsolete stock (ie: outside-horned machines). While I can't speak to this practice being done on a Triumph, I can say that I haven't yet seen this done on any Home machines. Why it was worthwhile on a Standard and not on a Home, I can't imagine.

Martin

My Triumph E would probably have had a lid label at one time.If it did it would've come off long ago.edisonplayer

This is a picture of one of my E machines that has the E label over the reproducer change label.. Of My F machines one has no label and one has the standard reproducer label in it. The tops could have been switched or Edison was using up old stock Tom B

That's a really cool example.. Thanks for posting it. You can also see that the 4 screw side latch catches went to the 3 screw type as well.. By the time the Model E had come out.
