A little progress update. I received the parts from Bob, thanks. I also have a horn and reproducer on the way, purchased from another member of this forum. The drawings are complete for the traveling arm parts, (the traveling arm will be produced from a 100+ year old piece of quarter sawn oak). I have also made progress on that altered spring housing. I machined the horse shoe from a piece of ductile cast iron and machined the two openings into one uniform opening. I had a local welder and cast iron stove repair man do the silver soldering. It is roughed in and still needs some hand work and plating, but things are looking up for the little machine. I was happy that I could rebuild the existing housing rather than make a new one. The new part would have been less work, but salvaging is more fun.

Great work... I'm with you, if you can salvage the original part it is much better than remaking it totally...
