Thank you Earl! And your comment has made me go and try the piano in the front room

. According to Bill, we have a nice one! Weight does often mean quality, and this 8-7 is no exception. Even with wheels it is quite heavy. It is solid, even after many years in less than adequate storage.

I am in awe of your machine. I own two Victrola 8-9s, so I know how great they can sound, especially with a reproducer rebuilt by Wyatt Markus!

8-8 and 8-9's have metal horns, the 8-7 has a wood horn.
They do have different sound.

They certainly do. My 8-7 and 8-8 both sound different, and each has it's own charm.
Looks like yours is coming along nicely, Greg! Mine still has a long way to go!
