The only European country that commercialized DD machines was England, as far as I can tell. You can find DDs in French, German and Italian languages, I have a bunch of them, but they were all made in the US (all DDs were recorded and pressed in the Edison facilities in the US), and probably they targeted the local immigrant market, except the ones recorded specifically for the English market. Edison once had recording studios in London and Paris, but by the time the DDs came to market these studios had already been shut down. So, no surprise that you cannot find DDs in Italy!Marco Gilardetti wrote: The other technology that I wonder if it ever made it to Italy at all, is Edison's Diamond Disc. Never seen a machine or part of it, never talked to anyone who vaguely knew what it was, never seen a record (except for one single record, which belongs to my collection and I keep as a curiosity).

Thank Carlos, this explains perfectly their scarcity in Italy!
