The only European country that commercialized DD machines was England, as far as I can tell. You can find DDs in French, German and Italian languages, I have a bunch of them, but they were all made in the US (all DDs were recorded and pressed in the Edison facilities in the US), and probably they targeted the local immigrant market, except the ones recorded specifically for the English market. Edison once had recording studios in London and Paris, but by the time the DDs came to market these studios had already been shut down. So, no surprise that you cannot find DDs in Italy!

Thank Carlos, this explains perfectly their scarcity in Italy!
