My Uncle has a shop in California which caters to hot rodders and classic car restorers. One of the things he does is repair cast iron parts. His process of straightening cast iron parts, is to heat in an oven to the glow point and press the part to a little beyond the straighten point. The spring back on cooling is unpredictable, so sometimes it must be done a couple of times. As JV pointed out, the part must be irreplaceable to warrant the cost. Cheers, Russie
