Indeed, Baby Regents are cool. I would certainly like to own one someday. Columbia produced some interesting cabinet designs. Congratulations!

No wad of bills were in the way of the drawer unfortunately. Just a screw that got lodged against the back. I looked all over but never figured out where it might have come from. Everything looked fine. I oiled the gears and the governor and it runs like a champ. And the drawer closes!

Great Grafonola. I like the imagination of Columbia's designers. I'm glad you figured out the issue with the drawer. Here are a few pictures of the Baby Regents 1st cousin which is in my collection. It also has a glass top added but w/o the neat beveled edges.

A beautiful machine! More or less the same as mine with louvers but round. I like the glass on these machines as they nearly always would have had "things" set on them. And mine does have things on it.

TAE would flip over in his grave if he could see one of his machines sitting on top of a Columbia...

Baby Regents are truly beautiful machines-- I had an oak one (sold a few years ago) that was oak.. It had a lower shelf about where the legs curve in that sat on small "L" brackets attached to each leg. I think later ones had the shelf and earlier ones not-- but that's just my guess.

Glad you found the problem that was possibly caused by the transportation. That was my problem with my drawer caused by the transportation too. The Columbia is my easier phonograph to play discs. I have a Vic 14 but it has stuff on it. I am getting bad. If I want a cylinder I put it in the standard F so I can listen to either a cylinder or a disc easily. A lot of people are amazed at the Columbia though and surprised it plays records. I need to research the age of the Columbia as I thought it was more modern than the ones with louvers. I like the round one . Tom

I finally dug out the Columbia disc book and found these pictures. You are right mine is older than yours. Tom
