Where are you seeing repair/modification? All looks normal to me.

The cap that holds the bearing looks altered, (JB Weld, welded? It is hard to know without in person inspection. I can only compare it to mine and something does not appear correct, although it may function fine. It may be possible that this part was cast as a single piece, but it still looks altered. That is supposed to be a threaded cap that holds a single ball bearing). The crank is not factory slotted. My guess is that it is a threaded crank that has been crudely notched to engage the pin on the winding shaft. I am just pointing these concerns out to any forum member that may be considering this machine. The crank is definitely not correct. The serial number is fairly low, but this is not a real early example . The early variant had an 8” turntable. This particular machine is also missing it’s feet, (unless the early machines did not have them). I am not trying to pick the machine apart. I just wanted to draw attention to what I see as negatives. My opinion that it is a bit overpriced is just that. It is of course worth different amounts to different collectors.

Here is a slotted crank from my Monarch and a photo of my motor in the area that concerns me.

I hate to beat a dead horse, (actually, I do not approve of any horse beating). But for additional reference, this machine is the same vintage as the eBay machine,(same hardware and four digit serial number). The part in question appears to look different than the eBay machine, (the same as mine). This one also has a non-threaded winding shaft.

I apologize for making my comments piecemeal. I only got out of the hospital on Friday, (after a nine day stay), and my stamina is nearly nonexistent, (complication following back surgery, not Covid).

I’m finding it a challenge to find an elbow for my Victor II Humpback. It appears to be 1 ¼” short end to the elbow.

Do you mean a horn elbow? If so... viewtopic.php?t=58782

BTW, it would be best to post your question as a new topic. That way, the title of the post will align with your question.
