The tonearms are wood with brass fittings. Each reproducer is mounted to a short wooden stub with a brass fitting for easy interchange between the vertical and lateral reproducers.
Motor meters are of two types (round and arc dials) and feed off a truly clever worm gear and slotted shaft gizmo. They only came on the senior models. I don’t know whether the motor that can support the meter ONLY comes with a meter, and in such case that lesser models will thus have a lesser motor.
My taste in Sonoras only extends to the models with meter and wood tonearm. And to make it worse, the top of the top end models (Invincible, Implacable, Indomitable, and the very rare Unbelievable) are way too garish and baroque for me. So I stick with my Grand, and it’s still so curvaceous that it’s in the garage.
