How much is the 8-7? I sure looks like a nice machine. Jerry

Very nice 8-7, and I'm also admiring the record cabinet beneath your Victor VI. Are the sides and back bowed?

Nice collection!

Hi George

Thanks for the complement. The cabinet under the Vic 6 I believe is a Herzog. I have seen similar escutions on other Herzog pieces and the cabinet itself is made very well.

The only part that is bowed is the front two doors. The mechanism inside automatically opens the opposing door when one or the other is pulled open. It was a real mess when I picked it up so I restored it with alot sweat labor...

Gary,

Good to hear from you - - long time, no see!

You're right; your cabinet is a Herzog No.832, and can be seen in an original catalog on page 90 of our book, Phonographica. Original price of that cabinet was $40.00 - very expensive for the day (twice as expensive as Herzog's "barrel front" or "half-round" cabinets!). We show another surviving example of the Herzog No.832 on page 189 of Antique Phonograph Accessories & Contraptions.

Congratulations - nice cabinet!

George P.
