@des bois, actually it's very big, and the tt is 12"... i would say it's the European version of the VV-VI, the bigger one. it's not the ultimate thing for playing 78s, actually acoustics sounds much better in machines with bigger horns. But I fell in love with it, for 120€ it's not bad! Indeed the photos don't do justice to it, it's very beautiful in the flesh!
Anyway, as for the OT, the decal in mine I bet it's authentic, so yours can also be authentic, for a machine made in France.

Inigo, Your gramophone is much nicer than the plain VV VI! I never saw it in France...

I bought it three years ago in the Sunday flea market, which by this time was already full of French antiques. I bet Spanish gypsies have started to buy lots of things in the vide-greniers in France. There prices seem to be much lower for many old things, at least as I saw in 2010-2012 when I was there at Aix-en-Provence for long periods, and I went to flea markets in the little towns South-West of Marseille. Jove! it was pretty cheap for 78s! The Rastro in Madrid is full of French antiques since five years ago...
