My container of Kotton Klenser is quite old and has turned a bit brown. My GoJo is newer. I sniffed both the Kotton Klenser and the GoJo and it seems the Kotton Klenser odor is a bit stronger. I get the impression that the GoJo smells a bit sweet in use. My results are hardly scientific, though! I'd recommend buying a container of GoJo anyway, since it's just around five dollars, and if the results aren't what you expect you can always use it as a hand cleaner!
Welcome back, by the way! You haven't posted in awhile!

Thank you, Bob, for both the GoJo feedback and the welcome back. What is it they say about a bad penny turning up?
Actually, I was helping out with a friend who was in late stage cancer until he passed away last weekend, so my priorities had been rearranged for awhile. But I am back now!

Regarding KK, it does get brown and tends to separate as it ages, but I doubt this affects its properties much, if at all.
Tink, my condolences. I also noticed your absence, and am sorry for the loss of your friend.

Hi All,
Because I use KK at times in my profession-art restorer-and it is used by many others in the related art fields as well. I checked on this a number of years ago with them and they suggest that it just be mixed until the color is uniform. The properties of the KK will not be affected.

I'm also a KK fan, but it's expensive, especially with the shipping costs. I can't find GoJo without pumice in my neck of the woods so I tried GooP hand cleaner, available at Walmart for $2.99 per jar. It can't compete with the KK extra strength for metal, but works very well on woods. It does not have the annoying KK smell, even my wife started using it for cleaning her antiques. Can't beat the price and makes the hands clean, comes very handy after main spring re-greasing jobs.

Ditto - - especially the part about the wife not liking that KK odor! That was my main reason for changing to Goop or GoJo, and the savings is just icing on the cake!
