Were they originally supplied with The Limit soundbox, do we know? The one on Ebay sounds awful but I bet it would sound a whole lot better after a rebuild and adjustment. Many congratulations on a fine machine that already sounds amazing with HMV no. 4.
Ha ha ! It's a great room for yodeling in !
The ones I have seen all have the very same limit sound-box. (Which will have rock hard gaskets).

I was just having a quick look at my Novaphonic portable and noticed something odd. I checked the one on ebay and it seems the same.
The odd thing is that there seems nowhere to store the winding handle in the actual gramophone case !
If I am not imagining this does anyone know why ? I have never seen a portable without such an internal storage area ........

Quite a bargain I think. Cheaper than most of those oh so common HMV 102's these days.
Although the brake and speed control are different to mine I would love to know if it has a double spring motor and what the horn looks like. Maybe a video too with it playing !!

Now there's a thought. F.T.A.'s do look like great machines. Are you thinking of any particular model

Yes, I think it was very good value. Really. These things are subjective though of course. There are various brands of gramophone I simply wouldn't buy because they are in my opinion very over priced and over-rated. However, this isn't one of them.
On the other hand, I suppose you could just refuse to pay and let the second highest bidder have it - then just look around and buy a cheaper one.
