There are a number of different designs for these tools. Just be sure you get either pointed or rounded tips rather than blades:

yayyyy!

I need to find help fixing my 1907 Fox Visible 24, and honestly I've almost forgotten how to work on typewriters. Used to make a hobby out of it, was considering becoming a professional typewriter mechanic, and somehow forgot how to build them. Slowly remembering some of this stuff bit by bit.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I couldn't ignore the Smith-Premier. They're awesome machines.

No worries! I do love the early typewriters. I'm just a dilettante, but I did manage to fix (mostly) a flea market find, a Hammond Number 2 remodeled from a Number 1. I stopped work on it after my bad work posture inflamed a nerve running from my back and through my left arm.
