I hate to say it but that really looks like a finial screw for a lampshade or other lighting fixture, especially if I'm seeing from your picture right that the threads only start halfway up and the bottom is unthreaded.

Yeah, I know...but I guess I'd like to know for sure!

The knurled part, the nickel plating, and the fact that this thing - of all things - should have been found on this machine when so much else was missing - - all this makes me crazy. But the jaded, 57 year-old part of my brain knows the truth. I think.

Wow!!...is right. I think there is even a thread on that machine and carrying case... .

That not only was a Zonophone, it still is. It's now in my collection.

I would love to see it out of the box
