I'm happy for you, Mindy! I have a very good friend who transitioned about 12 years ago. She told me about some of her "trials and tribulations" during her tough times, but she's even more amazing now than before (and she's literally a brilliant PhD). I have nothing but respect.

It's good to have you back.

Cheers,
Fran

Those success stories are always so good to hear, Fran. I've a PhD also, but I won't claim being brilliant. :) But I hope to set a good example and show that folks like me are indeed just folks.

Now I've got to get my b*tt in gear and start updating this Edisonic inventory again. Congrats on your publishing successes of late.

AMANDA’ S BEETHOVEN EDISONIC

Model: Beethoven Edisonic
Serial number: 2085

As posted elsewhere on this forum (March 5, 2020 under subject “Edisonic Beethoven”)

Hi All,
In 2011 I inherited an Edisonic Beethoven Phonograph. I know very little about the history of this machine other than my mother inherited it from her grandparents in 1973. I've been looking online for information about this machine for a few years. What I do find has been somewhat limited and a little outdated. Most info dates between 2004-2010. I'm wanting to see if anyone can direct me to webpage with history or anyone with knowledge on this beauty. I'd love to find out the year it might have been made, value, cost of insuring it, how many are still in existence, rarity or common, how and what to use to clean/polish it properly and any other helpful stuff.
It still works perfectly! It has all original parts (I dust the inside but have never re-lubricated springs or anything) and it still has all original manuals (even though the illustrations are for the Schubert) that came with the machine. The only thing I have had to fix on it is the door pulls. The original screws (which I still have) no longer held the door pulls securely so I replaced with new screws. Yikes
My son is now embarking on a school assignment to research the Beethoven and anything you can offer would be great! I look forward to your responses. I've attached a few photos but can provide more if needed.
Thank you for any help,
Amanda

I wonder why someone blanked off half the record storage? The left-hand compartment should have record dividers, not a flat board. Could a radio have been shoved into the cabinet at some point?

That would explain the square hole cut into the back. 2 terminal screws for Antenna and Ground connections on a plate secured with 4 corner screws.

Quite possibly; see photo in same series that shows a rectangular opening cut into its back.

RATHER TATTERED SCHUBERT THAT MIGHT STILL BE OUT THERE IN THE WILD

Model: Schubert Edisonic
Serial number: 1534

As posted elsewhere on this forum by Dave (March 30-April 2, 2017) under subject “Edison DD machine questions?” He wrote:

I went to take a look today. I was disappointed. They bought the records at a flea market, so no electrical ones, the cabinet had been refinished, crank replaced, no front horn cover, no lid hold-open, the reproducer didn't lift up to move it to play position, that was all mis-adjusted, turntable didn't stop turning, and so forth. I didn't really press them about price, but I know they would talk down quite a bit. If anyone is interested, I could get it for you and I could meet Jerry Burney on his trek to Union to have it delivered, ( I haven't asked, but he usually does that for a nominal fee). Anyway, if you have an interest, let me know and we can talk further. Sorry for the pictures. It was so dark in there that it was difficult to see and I hoped the flash would show things.

ANOTHER BEETHOVEN EDISONIC

Model: Beethoven Edisonic
Serial number: 1993

As posted elsewhere on this forum by Dustie89 on May 24, 2019 under subject “SOLD: Edisonic Beethoven Diamond Disc- $700 “ He wrote:
Here is a cool find from this week. Up for sale is this Edison Beethoven. In working condition and original finish. Needs some elbow grease and a good clean up and could make a great machine.

The door pulls are not original, alligatoring and faded finish in places, there are a couple of bad spots on the lid, had a swollen pot metal adapter that broke off where the reproducer inserts so signs of where I had to remove it. Comes with the original instruction manual I found inside the motor cavity. Stretcher is intact. Great opportunity to get a Beethoven.

Free delivery to Union.

NOTE: Jim Maxwell quickly expressed interest and is probably now the owner.
