I never drive when we are in LA - those freeways give me the willies!! AND you have to drive on the wrong side of the road :D
I wish I didn't have to drive when I am out in CA with family, but alas, they are located too far apart to avoid doing so.

I suppose I am thankful, however, that I don't generally have cause to drive in other countries of dyslexic drivers, such as your own!

Quite simple: separate living rooms.

Would you believe we were at an antique flea market and saw the identical candy (really an ashtray) dish. We both saw it at the same moment and DeeDee said "don't even think about it". Thirty seven years of marital bliss taught me to not say a word and to keep on walking. That and the fact it was priced at $50 which was $40 more than the first one. I did sneak back to get contact info from the seller in case someone is interested. Jerry

Be careful, Jerry... you may have people knocking on your door or spamming you with email wanting to get at that candy dish first!

I'm on the flip-side of the problem, so to speak. I'm into this, but my ex-husband wasn't!

I guess we lady early recording enthusiasts aren't exactly a common breed.

Same here. We are both music lovers and genealogists too. When we relocated to an island in the middle of the Pacific, it was highly doubtful that I would have room even for our analog music. However, we were able to find a cabinet that not only suited our modern, digital needs, it also worked for analog and acoustical media as well.

Plus it looked good!

I think the candy dish and the magazine rack are a hoot, I'd put them in my 50's room anyhow. My Partner doesn't mind the phonographs, and is learning to really enjoy the music. He's a major horror movie fan, and I enjoy some of those as well so we compromise.....makes life interesting. I wonder if Michael Myers had phonograph? Maybe a franken-phone? I couldn't resist. :P

My buddy is also a discriminating phonograph collector and is SINGLE! Please send your age and photos of your collection, and I'll see if he is interested.
