Beautiful work, Wyatt, but salvaging that base cabinet means that there is one fewer orphan lid available. I find this to be a bit of a problem, as about eight years ago I picked up a lovely mahogany Home machine with a perfect untouched original finish in a trade with an antipodean collector. The parcel containing the lid did not arrive intact, and so the poor thing still waits in vain for a nice original bonnet.! ;)

Wyatt, beautiful work. I can only dream, but I must try it myself. I have a very good original finish oak case for a Home B where both hinge slots have been broken out to the outside of the case which, of course demands the most skillful of repairs. If you have any photos of your prep work for that portion of the repair, I would appreciate it if you would post them. I do appreciate the picture you have already posted of the finished repair. I now see what needs to be done but am not sure how to get started with it. Thanks.

Jim
