Price reduced to $500...any lower and I'll be saving money by burning it for heat this winter

As much as I hate to say it, I'm beginning to think you should consider parting it out on Ebay since no one wants it as a complete machine. You are in a very common and unfortunate situation here where you have put a lot of money into something but it is not fully restored and no one wants it at any price. I had that happen once with an MGB which was a work in progress that had to be sold because I was making a cross country move and couldn't take it along. I ended up recovering about 20 cents on the dollar and I had to take it because it was the only offer on the table. At this point you might be better off to keep it and enjoy using it. Perhaps you can find a good cabinet at a later time. Good luck with it.

The cabinet really isn't that bad, it's not warped, peeling, falling apart, water damaged, or otherwise. It could probably use a finish refresh, but it really didn't bother me enough to do it (and I'm pretty picky with things I display in my home).

I can't part something out, if someone wants to buy it and do that, fine...but it won't be me. I'd sell an intact machine for less vs. parting it out for more.

You should not give up hope, a buyer will come along. I think the price is good. Too bad I don't have a larger house and live 1,000+ miles closer!

The time of the year doesn't help either. When spring hits I think it will do better. Too bad you aren't in the South, it is a very cool looking machine.

I had planned to, but I think I may have a scheduling conflict now. I am however going to be going to NJ sometime in the spring to pick up my Opera regardless.

Actually, I'm glad to hear that you wouldn't consider parting it out. I only mentioned it because I don't know what your situation is.
