Well guys, since we are starting to add the horns up I'll add mine to the list also.

The paint inside and out is original showing fine crazing. There are no marking on the horn anywhere. The gold elbow that is on the horn is the one that came with it, so I'm assuming at one time it was on a Victor VI. This was a loose horn when I got it and I just use it for display.

Best Regards, Larry

Larry, Thank you for sharing your horn. If your black paint in indeed original, then chances are better it was sold as an after market horn also made by Allen's Paper Horn in Kobe Japan. As a member "silvertone" previously posted a 1906 ad showing a black & red horn offered by a San Francisco dealer (see attached).

There is also another red & black horn just like yours (sans the decals) on a Victor 6 posted.

It is believed the horns offered by Victor were early (1904) and carry both the VTM decal and a gold "PATENT APPLIED FOR." decal on the edge of the bell.

So, to date....there are only three confirmed black & red VTM marked horns known. One will be up for sale on June 27th.

It is unknown (by me) how long these Allen's "aftermarket" horns were available for. At least until 1906-07.
