Well I just picked up my 1st VV-50 portable. I never thought I would be interested in a portable till I saw the wooden case. Then again I never thought I'd have 15+ machines after picking up my 1st a few years ago ;) Anyway, great thread here.

to add to this string I have a weird VV 50 last production years with out a nipper plate and a weird S/N. It is s/n 03496. Some one found a footnote on this one... probably 1924 or 1925

Well, a VV-50 followed me home from Union. Couldn't be happier.

Very nice machine. For a couple of victor doggy biscuits maybe it will follow me home. That looks like it will clean up to almost new.. How does it sound?? Tom B

Weak motor. Needs a rebuild. Reproducer needs new gaskets and such. It's very clean and should turn out great and be ready for another 75 years of playing.

Handsome machine. Don't own one, but would make room for one. Noticed tonight, someone is parting out a VV-50 on eBay. That might be an avenue for that missing latch. Not mine or any affiliation, just passing on. Again, a great looking phonograph! Steve
