Mike,

That display looks great. One other possible explanation for the somewhat later reproducer, is that the guy I got it from sent it out to be rebuilt by a place in Minnesota (that I won't mention) and was told how unusual it was and that they had never seen one before... He got this one back after paying $300 to have it rebuilt. This one is not that unusual...

I just heard that the Auxetophone that was found in Greensboro, NC a couple of years ago will be in the Stantons fall auction...

It is a real travesty that there are such charlatans in our hobby. To pull a fast one and separate the original reproducer from such a rare and early machine with which it has survived unmolested for well over a century, seems to me to be a crime against humanity (or at least a crime against our hobby). I have the receipt of which you speak, I will inquire as to the whereabouts of said reproducer. I'm sure it will be to no avail, however at least it will let the possible perpetrator know that such an act did not go unnoticed.

Mike,
Hope you get an answer.

One thing I forgot to bring with me is a large cylinder box in decrepit shape that has some more moldy brown wax cylinders in it... I'll bring it by the next time I see you and you can have it if you want it. The seller had it, but didn't know if it was originally with the machine...
