Here is one of my favorite things I picked up at the union show this year. A really old advertising banner that is in incredible shape. It's just stunning, at least I think so.

I was out of money but a last minute deal involving selling something I had that another collector wanted made it all work. I am pretty broke, but also pretty happy.

A comment above about the prices seeming low, I attribute to the home territory of the person commenting. On both U.S. coasts, prices do tend to be
higher than in the middle of the country---for ALL antiques. I was amazed at the observation about seeing a VV-VI for less than $5000. In my part of the country, $150 is about top dollar for one of those. I bought one last year that needed some work for $85. Bob Ault

I'm sure Jerry meant (in fact he wrote) "Vic VI", which is the outside-horn machine. The VV-VI is, of course, the low-priced internal horn model. I understand the confusion, though!

I was just looking through Fabrizio/Paul Gadgets and Gizmos and on page 209 is a nice little picture of a banner like yours hanging from the top of a phonograph shop. I wasn't sure if you had seen it.

Hey, I noticed quite a bit of interest in the Xvii. I have a American Walnut 130 available for half of Lynn's asking price (Which is actually quite rarer than the 17- according to a recent maps article only 18 are accounted for). It comes with all albums and an original claim ticket from Lyon and Healey to Mr Brown on Washtenaw Ave in Chicago. I'd like to know the history, or if the place still exists. Anyway, I just downsizing and it's available. I'm in NC.
