This forum deserves active, present, visible moderators.

I agree but you can't expect people to take on that challenge without being compensated.. time is money..

There's no shortage of people willing and able to help. I've been on this forum since 2009, and it feels a bit like it is going adrift without the active and present moderation. Where is Neophone/Brandon? To have just one moderator who isn't often here worries me. When will the picture situation get fixed, for example?

David/MordEth's post on 7/27...
"However, anyone who would like my phone number is welcome to either get it from Raphael or PM me."

There is indeed no shortage of people willing and able to help. For the benefit of our hobby, there's an entire team of volunteers already doing it here:

This isn't a job, it's a HOBBY (as in waste of "spare" time)...
WHO is supposed to be providing the compensation???
Are you being compensated for collecting this stuff or attending phono shows? If "time is money" is your main concern, why waste "time" reading and posting on here?

Oh, c'mon guys. Blizz was referring to the job of owning and taking care of the nuts and bolts of the TMF. It seems that the owner (David Clark) is not into phonographs and maintains this Forum for reasons unknown to us. He's a very nice fellow but not one to be pushed around or told what to do. The departure of Brandon a few years ago was an example of this. But when I called the other day, he was most gracious and jumped on the problem right away with me on the phone with him.
Looking through the large data base of TMF members, it seems that a very small percentage of users contribute monetarily to the TMF's upkeep. If more people would kick in 10 or 20 bucks a year, you can bet David would be a helluva lot more interested and the TMF better maintained.
There is room enough in this phonograph world for two Forums, and perhaps better because of it.

I would be happy to donate if the pictures could be retrieved, but I'm less inclined to do so if not. It would be like buying a phonograph with half the parts missing.

To be clear, I have absolutely nothing to do with the upkeep, administration or any other aspect of the TMF. I just happened to have David’s phone #, and I took action during an existential crisis. That is all. I did not ask about the lost pictures or any other specific matter. And I will not call and disturb David again to do so, but as he said, any member here is welcome to do so. Just keep in mind that when you do call, he’s not going to idly take any grief from a member, the TMF is his baby and can shut it down at will. So, tread lightly, please.
