I'm peering in from the sidelines here, but is it pronounced aux-"eh"-to-phone or aux-"ee"-to-phone? I've heard the latter pronunciation in the videos, but wondered, word geek that I am.

They are amazing machines, it operates at a very low pressure somewhere around 5 psi, similar to the pressure needed when blowing a balloon up, the needle bar is connected to a slotted plate that moves against another similar slotted plate, It works similar to human vocal cords, with the compressor on you have great volume with the compressor off the volume drops to a whisper, just as a human voice would do when you get the breath knocked out of you . I received my electric motor back for my Auxetophone from being totally rebuilt. It looks and runs great. They totally cleaned, re-varnished and baked the field windings, made new brushes, made new oil reservoir caps, replaced the lead wires, cleaned and polished the armature, and painted the case. Amazing job!!! I should be getting the air pump back at the Midwest Show in June. I am anxious to get it all done and play a record.

Hi Ken , That motor looks great, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the pump turns out as well and operates properly , the torsion bar originally was crimped into place, keep the updates coming.

Where did you get the electric motor restored? I have some more business for them!
