I have a Victor record made in Camden (at the Trinity location?) on 28 October 1925 with a quite loud 60 Hz hum. It's 45519, a late blue label batwing:
A: 'Holy night' by Lucy Isabelle Marsh with Trinity Choir (mx BVE.33469-7)
B: 'Silent night' by Trinity Choir (mx BVE.21477-12).
In 1926 this blue label series was replaced with a Red Seal series starting at number 4000. 45519 was reissued in this series on 4534.
Both sides have this same hum, oddly handy for setting the playback speed....somewhere around 76 rpm IIRC.
I wonder if the other recordings made that day at Camden have this hum? Here's the listings of the issued takes thereof from EDVR:
Issued on Victor 19833:
BVE.28489-12: 'Star of the east'--Trinity Choir
BVE.28490-13: 'The birthday of a king'--Trinity Choir
Issued on Victor 19923*:
BVE.33488-3: 'O vermeland, thou lovely'--Victor String Ensemble
Issued on Victor 79439:
BVE.33489-3: 'A mama'--Shloimele Rothstein
BVE.33490-3: 'Trinklied'--Shloimele Rothstein
*Coupled with BVE.34241-3: 'The music box'--Victor Woodwind Ensemble, recorded at Camden 22 December 1925.
