I took with with my cell phone last night, but it gives you a better idea, I think, pardon the cell phone quality of the photo, though!

Wondering if this might be the "driftwood" oak finish, looking at the inside of the lid, or is it just lighter looking in the picture than it really is?

I've only ever seen one machine, a XVI, in driftwood oak, and it really looked nothing like this (which is probably weathered or gunmetal oak), but instead just like driftwood, with a very very light and weathered gray color.

Re: Today's Auction Haul
Brian is right, it's one of the two. Weathered and Gun Metal are so similar in that chart in the VDB that it's really hard to tell. The reason I'm still sticking with Gun Metal is because the grain is an almost exact match with what's in the book.
There's mention of extra cost for certain finishes in the book also, but it doesn't say which ones as I recall. This machine was sold for $200, though, so it wasn't an extra cost finish.

Re: Today's Auction Haul
Sorry Adam, I didn't really do much with it last night other than pull the motor and do some adjusting. I'll post more photos as I make noticeable progress in a few more days.
