Thanks fmblizz!! Nice talking to you today and I can't wait for the motor board and related parts to arrive! I am still on the hunt for the horn, tone arm and bracket. Also need a lid support, but you got me close to half way there in the parts dept.!
Would it be possible for one of you XVIII owner's to post a close up pic of the tone arm? I know a tone arm from my earlier XVI will fit, and will work (the length seems correct as the needle passes over the spindle when installed). But just because it fits does not mean it is the correct arm.

Here are couple shots from my VE-XVIII. I don't know if the tone arm was different for the Electrola, I don't think it would be, but who knows.
Anyone have any idea what Reproducer I have? It came with the machine, is extremely well built and sounds great. I have not been able to find anything about it.

Here in England, that reproducer was used extensively by Decca. Mine is marked "Primaphonic No.8". I could be wrong, but I think someone said they were made by Paillard.

That is the correct style tone arm for a windup XVIII as well. As was stated before, the arm is the correct length if the needle crosses the spindle correctly.

It should be the same as the arm for the XVI - at that point Victor components were interchangeable among a large range of machines.

I got this off of an early (still had a bullet brake)VV-XIV. Would this be correct for your machine? I have one with the arm for the brake as well.

Bill, from what I have seen the tonearm in the foreground in the first picture appears to be the correct tone arm. The length, style, and diameter of the bracket end look exactly right to me. It looks to have the indention for the pin in the bracket as opposed to the extruded version. I think either would fit.

Hi Matt
the motor is in the mail...
I think the tonearm and mount pictured without the u-tube is the right one. It looks exactly the same as the tonearm on my VV-XVI..
Snap it up...

If you want it IM me with your address. It's yours for the postage.

If you need the u-tube I can pull it off of the other one.
