I've also contacted the publisher and they still have copies. I don't have an EMG but they're so interesting I'm going to order a copy.

I finally found the Mark IX ad after pawing through my Gramophones. Notice how EMG is in very small type? E M Ginn's Expert gramophone was competing strongly with EMG for the market at this time . It was said that EMG was always slightly embarrassed when customers asked " What does EMG stand for? " and they had to admit it was the name of the man who had become their major competitor.

Motor unit seems to be a Garrard, could be the prestigious 201 professional unit, but then there should be a hole in the center of the spindle. How is the flutter on this machine, they sometimes have problems with the fibre gears.

Can you post a picture of the soundbox, looks very similar to an exhibition.
