It seems to be quite difficult to get EVDR's attention these days, apparently because they get too many emails. I sent them some information on a rather rare test tone Victor they don't have either, and the message just got lost in the crowd apparently.

All this talk about 19621, 19622 feels neglected!

Still no word from EDVR, but I did run across the following from Harry Sooy's Journal:

"March 6th, 1925; We kept constantly on the go with this electrical recording from February 9th to March 6th...Vocal Solos, Instrumental Solos, Vocal Duets, Symphony Orchestras, Dance Orchestras and a Mixed Chorus of 36 voices."

The excerpt originates from this site:

http://www.stokowski.org/1925%20First%2 ... elphia.htm

So, that mixed chorus of "36 voices" could very well be the 35 voices actually present for the 3/04/25, session for which I've tried to advocate, and which was apparently, in light of this information, a test? It might seem like a fool's errand at this point for the lack of response/interest this has generated.

The article mentions tests/recordings being made from Februry 9th onwards: too bad nothing else from February-early March is extant except for Victor 35753 and 19621.

Last year I picked up a little table model Harmony from a guy in a nearby town. During the course of conversation he mentioned that he had sold several records on eBay recently and was very surprised when one brought a significant amount of money. He then proceeded to describe the record. It was 19621.

Interesting.

I bought my copy in January buried amidst an eBay listing of ten religious records on Victor for less than $20. I'm quite grateful.

I wonder, likewise, what 19626 would go for.

He told me what it brought, but I can't remember exactly. Above $200 I think.

Holy smokes! Not bad for a "choir record."
