I think it is common knowledge that RECORDING has always been superior to reproduction, right up to this day.

I, too feel you should keep your Amberola V. Even though the Triumph is now working to your satisfaction, the V is an excellent machine that doesn't turn up every day and is well worth having. I have a 1A, two Triumph Ds and an Amberola 50, all of which play very well, plus a number of other cylinder machines. Even so, I would still like to have a clean Amberola V, but I have not had many chances to buy one. Even at Stanton's they don't show up very often. Out of his three auctions in 2013 I can't recall having seen even one of them for sale.
I'm glad to hear that you can now concentrate on enjoying the music. Enjoy.
