My next acquisition will probably be a total surprise purchased at Union. My phono interests are varied so I go to Union with an open mind. I've never been disappointed and have gone home with things I never dreamed I'd own.

How do you include your significant other in your hobby?

My other passion is salt water fishing. Love to be 50 miles off shore in the peace and quiet. It's the most relaxing thing I do.

What else do you collect besides phonographs?

Nothing. But I recently took up fishing rod building to suppliment my income when I retire.

What was your most gut wrenching moment involving a record you personally broke?

Oh, that's easy! Diamond Disc 51677, Hokey Pokey Diddle Dee Rum by Billy Jones and Ernest Hare. I loved that record so much. I went to go play it one day, my diamond had chipped unbeknownst to me and I watched in horror as the grooves toward the end turned a vivid brown, like a fresh sheet of sandpaper. I still have the record; at least I can play the flip side. On the one side, though, it can't even track anymore.

Do you have any modern music that you plan to transfer to cylinder, or to shellac/diamond disc when Borri finishes his work in that field?

Jones & Hare recorded this title on 51677, but I'm not familiar with the 32000 number series of Diamond Disc. Could you please show a photo of that label? :)

That was a case of me being lazy. I knew that there was a double-number in there somewhere and that the matrix number had a nice ring so I filled in with whatever sounded familiar. This is why I am not a journalist.

On the contrary, journalism today often has nothing to do with accuracy!

I didn't know I could transfer modern music to a 78. I will be looking into this a lot more so my answer would be yes.

What would you say is the MAIN reason you got into collecting phonographs and related items?

You can't yet. Shawn Borri is supposed to be working on getting it done, I think in the next few years. He is a gift from above, that guy.
