Re: My Berliner Gramophone Collection
Here are the 5" records that came with my K&R Berliner. There are four 5" K&R records and one 5" Zonophone (made in Germany) record. I would love to get a copy of the information you have on the 5" K&R records.Starkton wrote:Stunning collection! Do you have 5" K&R records? I collect information about these.

Anyone want to educate the newbies? A brief description and significance of each machine? They are certainly stunning.

Thank you for the nice pictures. The discs No. 28, 29 and 77 make a perfect match with your small model K&R gramophone which was first offered in November 1891. Its selling price, including three discs of free choice, was about $7 during the season 1892/93. The French recording, No. 165, was added later.

Here is a picture of the Montross Berliner I had a while back. It was missing the record hold down but had the correct red pin stripped horn. One nice feature that I wished they kept in the design was that the crank was attached with a screw and when it was playing, the crank would fall to the resting position.

Thanks for the great information on my K&R discs. I was especially curious about the 5" Zonophone disc. Do you have a list of the data you have collected on K&R records available?Starkton wrote:Thank you for the nice pictures. Here is my K&R package as received with it's original shipping box and records. It is amazing how well the K&R fits into it's shipping crate which I am sure is why it has survived all these years in near mint condition:

I purchased the K&R from a European friend/ collector after a trip out to Europe to visit him last year, but I do not know it's history.
