that was my only point, not to drum up controversy or great debate.
I hear ya.
I think the real gnashing of teeth begins when someone posts "Hey did everyone see this cheapo portable on ebay with a brass reproducer that only has one bid for 99 cents? Huk huk, just thought I'd let y'all know. Oh, and I emailed the seller just in case he wanted to know too."

This is after he offered me a 2nd chance at my max bid price. Who bids over $287 for a recorder then doesn't complete the transaction ?
He also listed this for the same $277.77 a day later...

Can I prove it, no. Is it obvious to someone who has done some 2000 ebay transactions? Yes...
Regardless, I will never knowingly by anything from Mark. I want good karma recordings...
i will prove you are wrong and stop this attack....auction 191550996440 was completed by ebayer sirdesmond13....his name is Des Gaull out of Australia...contact him if you like..he also bought a "h" reproducer and he liked that also.....you were offered a second chance offer thru the ebay system because i have inventory of more recorders and who doesn't that has been around this business for over 40 years....thank you for all who contacted me about this attack on my integrity and it is the shame of it when you have to defend yourself in a public forum and it makes you think why but if you don't ...

Mark, every dealing I have had with you has been straight, honest and above-board, as well as pleasant. I'm sure there are many members of this Forum that will have exactly the same thing to say. I look forward to seeing you at Union.

Let's get back to that Salem Ohio auction.
1.We know you purchased a large number of machines at that auction.
2. We also know you outbid at least a dozen collectors at that auction, paying well over market prices for those machines. (market price being the price collectors are willing to pay.)
3. Did you or did you not part out these machines for sale on ebay?
4. If you deny doing this, what prices do you intend to ask for these machines if you sell them as complete machines. Do you not need to mark them up even further in order to make any profit on them?

Looking forward to seeing you at Union, Mark. As always, thanks for the services you provide to the collecting community.
As for the Concert, I hope it arrives safely to its destination. It looks like a decent machine if the awful photos can be trusted...
