Well if you look from about 4:45 in the following video you can see me over bend the springs on a governor which is one of my worst mistakes to date!JerryVan wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 12:13 pm Interesting that in this whole thread, there's not one picture of these calamities. Why preserve bad memories, I guess.![]()

Re: What’s the biggest accident you’ve had with a machine?
In August I broke the foot to my VV-111 in the middle of moving to my current place…I took the hardware out of the cabinet to AVOID something like this from happening…but OF COURSE Murphys Law just had to butt in and half of the bottom leg broke off! Here’s a photo after I wrapped it in tape. I have since glued the half of the foot that broke off back together with Gorilla wood glue and it’s still holding thankfully, but I was absolutely upset when this happened!

Re: What’s the biggest accident you’ve had with a machine?
I had a guy years ago try to bring me an Edison Triumph that was in a mint banner front case.
He accidentally left it on the running boards of his van and it fell off on a major highway at 75 mph. He watched it explode in his rear view mirror because he heard it hit the pavement…… true story.
The machine was never found as it happened at night.

DejaVu...
I just read this...
I just read this...
"The phonograph is not of any commercial value."
Thomas Alva Edison - Comment to his assistant, Samuel Insull.
"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."
