I find that the following works extremely well with worn / dry / problematic records:
1. Play once with a bamboo needle.
2. 'Zig Zag' the record with bees wax.
3. Play again with a bamboo needle.
4. Blow excess wax off record.
5. Wipe it with a standard record cleaning cloth / velvety thingy block - what-ever they are called
6. Play again using a bamboo needle.
7. Blow off excess wax from record.
8. Wipe it with a standard record cleaning cloth / velvety thingy block - what-ever they are called
9. When next played the record sounds like new. Really.
