Hello there,
I noticed the date stamped onto your horn and I remembered that I have a horn which has the same date stamped onto it.
The stamp marks are a different size and 'lay-out' and the horn looks different to yours. However, because the 'PAT' date is the same I now assume that mine is a Columbia too maybe ?
I have always also wondered about the type of machine it was originally connected to and now wonder if (like yours) it was a cylinder phonograph ?
August 22, 1905 was the date on which Charles Eichhorn was granted a U.S. patent (No.797,725) for an “Amplifying Horn.” This patent was assigned to the Tea Tray Company, and this date can be found on 14" black & brass horns like yours (standard equipment with most Edison Phonographs until late 1907) as well as larger "morning glory" horns. When Edison began supplying large flower horns with its Phonographs in October 1907, they were manufactured to the specifications of this patent.

Thank you VERY much for the information. My 'mystery horn' is now no longer a mystery as I now know it is an Edison horn ! Thank you once again.

John, what a stunning cabinet. Congrats on completing your "cabinet that matches" line up. The 24-b horn has always been my favorite. I should display mine more often.
Your post reminded me that I too found a record cabinet last year.....

Thanks! The Brunswick came from the Hazelcorn auction at Donley's I had bought one several years ago and regretted selling it every since. Hoping to keep this one until the Beatles get back together.

John, The cabinet cleaned up nicely and is looking great, It is an amazing addition to anyone's collection, I am glad I was able to pick it up for you, at least I had it in my possession for a short time, When I did pick it up and share with the auction director that I was the backup bidder on it they seemed surprised that I would still pick it up for you after losing the bid , but I explained that for the most part phonograph collectors all get along and though we are competitive we are not vindictive.
