I'm sorry I missed that! If only I had been involved in the hobby at the point it (unknowingly) began with my 1st in 1986.AmberolaAndy wrote:Apparently, on June 21st 1992 our friend Phonogfp did a presentation at the Livingston County Museum!
And the fact that it was just "...down the road a piece."
Cheers,

It's interesting...this post made me recall that back in the early-mid 90s, I had numerous requests to speak at various historical societies (and even a synagogue and a Kiwanis Club!). As time went on, the requests became fewer, and I don't think I've done one since 2004. I suppose the lack of interest mirrors the general societal lack of interest in history and antiques. It's probably just as well - - I used to take 12 or 15 machines with me to demonstrate, including a Class M. I no longer have a van, and my back isn't what it used to be either!

Going to Charley's the Saturday of the Wayne Show weekend is a treat that would be difficult to duplicate, to say the least. I'll never forget winding my way through his amazing collection.
It was literally one of the high points of my life, and it came after going to Edison's Lab in West Orange. A truly spectacular weekend.
