Thank you, Ron! Please let me know your last name for acknowledgement (PM is you like), or you can request to be anonymous.

Any other Triumphs/Spring Motors out there for inclusion? We're at 117 so far...

Hi George,

Time to add my Model D Triumph, which is in a mahogany case; three-weight governor:

Edison Spring Motor/Triumph Questionnaire
1) Serial number (found on top): 78765D
2) Is serial number stamped in a plate, or a raised boss? Stamped
3) If stamped in a plate, what’s the last patent date? May 22, 1906
4) Does straight edge (where front of reproducer carriage rides) have 2 screws? No
5) Does the upper casting have lugs for Class M pulley wheels? No
6) Which secures the endgate; a ball catch, or a locking lug? No endgate
7) Does carriage hold the reproducer with nickeled clips, or a single screw at 2:00 position? Single screw
8) Motor number (found stamped on front of motor frame): 61802
9) Are the motor gears solid or spoked? Spoked
10) If there’s a plate below the mandrel, what exactly does it say? N/A
11) Which does the cabinet have; a drawer, a banner decal, or an “Edison” script decal? Script decal
12) Are there any dated material with it? Invoices? Packing slips? Writing inside the lid? No

Oh, all original, except that I replaced the forward-facing, standard hole-size carriage with a top-facing, larger hole carriage.

++++++++++++

Wow - a ghost of Triumphs past! :)

Thanks, Wes. That makes 126 in the database.

Edison Spring Motor/Triumph Questionnaire
1) Serial number (found on top): 75383
2) Is serial number stamped in a plate, or a raised boss? Plate

6) Which secures the endgate; a ball catch, or a locking lug? No end gate.
7) Does carriage hold the reproducer with nickeled clips, or a single screw at 2:00 position? Single screw; however, the original carriage was replaced at some point with a horizontal carriage to use a Model O reproducer.
8) Motor number (found stamped on front of motor frame): 39117 (Wondering if this might be an earlier motor swapped in at some point.)
9) Are the motor gears solid or spoked? Solid
10) If there’s a plate below the mandrel, what exactly does it say? None
11) Which does the cabinet have; a drawer, a banner decal, or an “Edison” script decal? Script decal.
12) Are there any dated material with it? Invoices? Packing slips? Writing inside the lid? Not that I have found, other than 9-15-08 on the label inside the lid concerning how to change speeds, etc. (It is a Model D.)
