I started collecting at a single-digit age, and many of my records have suffered badly from it. One day, I was probably about 11, and I was carrying a stack of 78s inside a modern cheap "Victrola" and they all slipped out. That was the most records ever broken at once. All of the good ones have been repaired/replaced. I try to repair all the records I break, but sometimes it just isn't going to work. All in all, including cylinders and breakages from when I was very young, I probably at least broke 35. I have since learned my lesson and store my records much safer.

Certainly better than an educational film short called "Comin' In Thru The Rye" made in 1973 or so where a 1905-1906 Edison banner B gets tossed into a river by an upset young boy. Even in 1973-74 they should have known better! :x
