I work for a clinical lab & see all manner of medical journals & publications. Here from the current August issue of CAP Today(College of American Pathologists) is a gen-yew-whine ad from a company called Bio-Rad Laboratories, somehow promoting their Bioplex 2200 System)whatever that is). What I see is the cabinet of a VV-VIII or early VV-IX minus the lid, some brand of 1920s radio speaker horn to give it that "His Master's Voice" touch, & a stack of Lps just about to be shredded into vinyl shavings. By the way, is the Victor "winding key" at least correct for this machine?

Very interesting frankenphone

I'm not sure where this one belongs, but it is as "tragic" as some other examples here. Not a Crap-o-phone, not a Frankenphone, but somewhere it fits , if only "in spirit". This was found after a general search for "Victrola" on flickr.com. A fellow's girlfriend bought him the already gutted cabinet(so one can't place blame on him), & this was his new use for it.

That last one isn't so bad- at least it's a real turntable and not some kind of Ipod dock. The guy at least likes vinyl.
