Hey all,
We should each do our part to keep this "tradition" alive and stash something "fun" deep inside one or two of our machines. Especially in machines we intend to hang onto for many years, adding a time element to the novelty some future discoverer may experience upon finding the item.

Good idea!
I always tape a small slip of paper to the inside case of my phonographs that say when and who rebuilt the motor, what parts are original/replaced and what grease was used to re-lube the gears and spring. That way a future collector will know exactly what has been done/replaced/fixed on their phonograph, and when it happened.
-I could also stick a small 'fun' item in there, maybe a picture of me with the phonograph from back in "the old days".

Okay - I'll spray lacquer on the spider and put him back when the machine is restored.

I've heard of a lacquer beetle but not a lacquer spider...

Wouldja believe a "diamond beetle"? This one was in a DD repro I had rebuilt. I don't think I want to put it back in the machine though...

Darn, all I found so far were two records shoved in the back of the top storage slot while I was wiping the dust out.
