I am just shy of 1,000 plays. I have a number of diaphragms to test in the next few days and I should cross that amount soon. I checked the stylus in a perfect run off yesterday and nothing shows. No black material on the stylus from the grooves unless its a record which hadn't been played much. On records in regular use it runs clean. And as said several times the sound is very good. I know that Steven has installed several more stylus which are now in use although I have not heard reports of how they are doing. I did ask a couple days ago if any of the stylus had proved to be a problem and none was mentioned. There are a couple of minor issues having to do with mounting the stylus which Steven is working to perfect in order to make the job less time consuming so that he can take additional orders.

Larry, that's awesome! 1000 plays. Half way there.
It's all sounding very good at this point!
That is really encouraging to hear. Keep up the
good work!
Listening to all those Diamond Discs is a dirty job,
but someone just *has* to do it.

Any idea when these new stylus will be available? I have two Diamond Disc machines and a Amberola 75 that need them! How about cost? Any estimate?
Let us know!

Thanks,
Tony K.

Tony,
The cost for the diamond disc Stylus should be around 80.00. If your interested in them I would send a note to Steven Medved and get on a waiting list. I know that some stylus have recently been installed for customers. A slight adjustment is being worked out to make it easier to install them, after that is remedied they should be more readibly available.
I know that the cylinder stylus Steven is using has not caused any issues but which company there from I will have to check out an let you know when and if they are available.

Thanks, Larry, for the very good news regarding the stylus.
My C-2 electric would be very happy with a new stylus, and that is not a typical stylus installation. What is the best way to let Steven know that I'm in the market for a stylus for the C-2, and ask when he can install one? Thanks in advance.

I am just updating the thread to say that my Bruce styluses (for diamond disc and Amberola) are still going strong.

Steve Medved was having satisfactory results with the Expert Stylus (UK) product for Edison **cylinder** reproducers; it was that company's diamond disc styli that were causing all the problems and damage, and hence Steve's outreach to the Bruce Diamond Co.
So Tony K., you shouldn't have to wait to get the stylus for your Amberola 75 replaced. You may choose to wait for Bruce Diamond to produce a diamond stylus for Edison cylinder reproducers, but those from Expert Stylus have caused no problems that I know of. Steve Medved installed one for me late last year, and it performs flawlessly.
Best wishes, Mark
