Looking for records...

With all the thousands of records I seem to have accumilated lo these many years there are two that I would love to find. First is Doin the Racoon, by any artist on any label. Iwould love to have a Victor orthophonic record, but " beggars can't be choosers"
The second is The Charleston. I have this on a Bell label but it is a little worse for wear! If any one has either of these and will sell or trade please PM Me and let me know. Thanks in advance. Ed

You should have no problem finding Paul Whiteman's record of The Charleston

Paul Whiteman’s shows up occasionally and is a good piece.

19671 Victor Charleston Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra

The Ben Selvin number on Vocalion is exceptional, but harder to find.

15038 Vocalion Charleston Ben Selvin and His Orchestra

Yes, finding the Selvin version of the Charleston in decent condition has been challenging for me... though admittedly, I've only been looking for the past three years, and some have probably been looking a lot longer! :rose:

Not to hijack this thread, but I've been looking for 'On Mobile Bay' on electric Harmony. Not sure of the band, but pretty sure it's a Reser outfit. I had this record 40 years ago and let Paul Baker talk me out of it. Been trying to replace it ever since. Does anyone have it or at least know who recorded it?

I remember looking this up in the Rust books for you, John, and it's not listed in my edition of either the jaxx or dance band discogs.

I still have the note I wrote stuck in my index of the jazz discog about this!
