some suprising prices

There were a couple of sales on eBay this week that had, at least to me, some surprisingly strong prices--for example a Credenza (that does not have the brass reproducer) went for $1,724.
As to brass Orthophonic reporducers, by the way, one sold for $410.00.

Speaking of eBay, I expect most of you saw the HMV203 for sale in Alicante, Spain.
It made GBP£6650, to which a hefty shipping charge will have to be added if it is leaving that country.

That's the first brass Ortho that I've seen go for over $400.00 in a long time. I let a much nicer one get past me for around $300 at the last Stanton auction.

I thought you meant surprisingly low. I've noticed Amberolas going for half what they used to a few years ago.

Too early to tell for sure yet, but we may be starting to see a recovery of values.

Only if you count Credenza's and VV 8-30's going to Asia. They have to buy something with all the $$$ we send them.

Asian buyers bid up Credenzas, I've seen it myself.

they'll bid up more than just credenzas, but I've opted to sell only domestically considering the difficulties of sending large machines overseas combined with the trouble getting them back and ebay's new willingness to honor pretty much any complaint, no matter how unfounded, when made by buyers asking for refunds, etc.
